Rose and Calla Lily Wedding Cake

My first wedding cake of 2011, incorporating the ruching on the bride's dress, as well as the roses and calla lilies she was carrying.  It looks really small on the stand, but it was a 12" chocolate, 9" Irish cream liqueur and 6" vanilla sponge, weighing a total of around 20 kilos.

The venue, Birtsmorton Court, looked lovely and the weather was better than anyone could hope for in March.

Peopleton WI

Had a lovely evening on Tuesday with the ladies of Peopleton WI.  I gave a short demonstration then everyone had a go at modelling a teddy.  Great fun and a huge amount of laughter.  How is it that 30 people following the same instructions can produce 30 different teddies?  I remembered to take the camera so here they are...

Article in Worcestershire Living

A few weeks ago, Worcestershire Living Magazine asked if I'd like to be in their wedding feature. I sent in a few photos and heard nothing more. Until we found a copy last week, and there I was, on p21. Have to say my cake stood up well against the others featured :0)
